Meet Daisy Shu
Optometrist and
Research Scientist

Daisy is an optometrist and a research scientist at UNSW Sydney. Daisy says her job is the perfect blend of patient care and science. When she’s not caring for patients, she’s exploring the mysteries of the human eye in her lab at UNSW’s School of Optometry and Vision Science, which is the same place where her career journey began. Daisy also loves what she does because her work is improving people’s quality of life. When Daisy needs a break from her amazing job, she does yoga to clear her mind and bakes delicious treats to bring her joy. One day, Daisy wants to lead a big team who will find the cure for blindness, and she is well on her way towards that. At UNSW, Daisy is part of the UNSW STEMM Champions program, where she gets to inspire others to pursue a career in STEM.
