Meet Vinuri Silva
Researcher/Scientist

Louise Azzopardi, the Fixer Pathfinder, is working on some parts from a big truck which she is fixing. The truck is behind her.

Vinuri is a scientist who studies the ocean and plastic. When she was in school, she really liked playing sports and hanging out with her friends. But then, she got really interested in plastic pollution, so she went to university to learn more about it. Vinuri loves discovering new things and teaching kids how to take care of the environment. She talks to students about science and plastic pollution as a science communicator with Arludo. Her research helps us learn more about how plastic pollution affects the ocean, and she wants to make sure everyone knows about it. When she’s not working, Vinuri likes going to the ocean and travelling to different places. In the future, she wants to keep learning and help the environment even more.

The CSIRO Strengths Wheel

The STEM Together program from CSIRO helps curious Year 5 to 10 students strengthen their confidence, capability and connection with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

As part of this program, they offer free resources for educators, such as the strengths wheel. The strengths wheel is a self-reflection tool designed to empower students to think about their strengths, set their own learning goals, and identify actions to help them achieve personal success.

We asked our Pathfinders to fill in the strengths wheel so that your students can see what they have in common with each of these remarkable people.
